Stewardship

We are reminded by Scripture that everything that has been given to us is a gift from God, a blessing given to us to bless others and to join in the work of Christ in the world. As stewards of God's blessings, we strive to faithfully discern how to serve God with out time, talents, and treaures...

Stewardship 2022

Picture
What a year this has been! We are so grateful for all the ways that our church family has risen to the occasion and met the challenges of these past 18 months! We have adapted in so many ways- from live-streaming worship to holding meetings via Zoom, and even creating our extraordinary recorded Christmas Eve service. We have learned how God is always with us, guiding, directing, and comforting us- giving us hope in eternal life and joy in serving Him in all circumstances. God is at work, in and through Bethel Presbyterian Church, even in this strange time! It is evident in the way everyone has been so willing to adapt as needed, even learning new technologies we never thought possible! There is an energy in the air- the Holy Spirit is moving in our midst! It is an exciting time to be a part of our church family, for certain! As we move into this next chapter in the life of Bethel Presbyterian Church, our church leadership has been prayerfully exploring what God is calling us to be and to do in this challenging and changing time we are in. As a result of that discernment process, Session has adopted a new vision statement to guide us forward: to be a Christ-centered community of hope, truth, encouragement, and peace in this uncertain time when people are searching for something and Someone to hold onto. You can read more about this discernment process, the work that has been done, and keep up with progress and new developments at bethelpresby.org/vision.html. As we live into what that vision means in this time, and in this community, our leaders have identified three areas in which we will be pouring focus, energy, and attention in this coming year.
  • Children and Families: We care deeply for the unique challenges that families are facing in these crazy times and will learn and do what we can to be a source of support and care- in our worship services, in our programs and events, and in ministries of care and encouragement.
  • Community Care: We are very aware that there are deep needs in our community and are committed to learning about those needs (especially those of the elderly, economically challenged, and youth) and discovering how our unique passions and gifts can be best used to help ease those needs.
  • Outreach and Communication: We know that the old ways of sharing the good news of what God is up to in the church and in the world don't always speak into newer contexts, and that current situations do not allow people to participate in worship and programs in the ways they have in the past. We are excited to explore new ways to engage with our neighbors, and to learn and grow together.
It has been exciting to see all the ways God has already been blessing our efforts in this direction, and we eagerly anticipate what God is going to be doing in and through our church in 2022 and beyond. We all have the opportunity to join in God’s future for Bethel Church- as we pray for God’s leading and blessing, as we give our time to ministry teams and tasks, and as we consider how we can claim God’s future for our church as we join in financial partnership in ministry and mission in this time and place.
During the month of October, the finance committee will be compiling the budget for 2022 in preparation and anticipation of all God will call us to be and do in the coming year. We would ask you to prayerfully consider your financial pledge to the ministries of Bethel Presbyterian Church, and then complete the form to the right. We will be able to use those received pledges to plan the upcoming year and shape our work accordingly. Thank you so much for all the ways you are a part of the mission and work of Christ through our church! May God bless you, our church, and our loving and caring church family!
