Our mission calls us to live out our faith in the community and world by...
Sharing the hope that is in us.
Exhibiting Heaven to the world in word and deed.
Engaging in God's work in the world for justice, mercy, and peace.
Caring for the needs of our neighbors and reaching out with the welcoming love of Christ.
Our congregation has accepted the PC(USA)’s invitation to follow Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 25 by becoming active disciples and making a difference in our community and the world, pledging to embrace one or more of these three areas of focus:
• Building congregational vitality by deepening and energizing our faith and growing as joyful leaders and disciples actively engaged with our community as we share the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed
• Dismantling structural racism by fearlessly applying our faith to advocate and break down the systems, practices and thinking that underlie discrimination, bias, prejudice and oppression of people of color
• Eradicating systemic poverty by acting on our beliefs and working to change laws, policies, plans and structures in our society that perpetuate economic exploitation of people who are poor.
We live out this commitment in our life together, our engagemnt withe the community, and in creative partnerships with other congregations and ministries in our region and around th world.
Our Mission Partners
A Mission Center
We are blessed with our beautiful building and convenient location - and seek to use those blessings in a way that provides for help, healing, and wholeness for the people of our community.
We are proud to have Meals on Wheels operate out of our kitchen 5 days a week, year-round, providing healthy meals delivered to the door of neighbors who are unable, for a variety of reasons, to cook and prepare meals for themselves. We partner with Meals on Wheels through financial support, volunteers from our church family, and special projects through the year.
We are grateful to supply a place for Alcoholics Anonymous to meet for weekly support and encouragement, as we prayerfully hold up those who are so bravely fighting for recovery.
We are glad to host the Lions Club for their meetings, allowing them to gather and plan for their good work of community support and humanitarian aid.
Our Preschool and Childcare programs have been a place of support for area families for years- providing children a safe and happy place to grow and learn, and parents a sense of peace of mind as they balance the demands of work and other commitments.
All throughout the week, groups and organizations that support families, older adults, children with special needs, those in need, those in recovery, and more are provided space to meet, to gather, to find support, and to care. We are glad to be able to be that mission home from which and in which so many lives are touched and helped in so many ways.
