Joining the Church Family

Want to Know More?

Informational Gatherings are held several times a year to help those new to the church learn more about Bethel Presbyterian Church- who we are, what we do, what we believe, etc.

Pastor Cathie is also available to meet with you to answer your questions and help you find your place at Bethel.

Ready to Join?

There are several ways you can officially join the church family.  After meeting with Pastor Cathie and/or attending an Informational Gathering, you can join by:
  • Transfer- if you are a current member of another Christian congregation, you can request to have your membership transferred to Bethel Presbyterian Church.  Kathy Young in the church office can help you navigate how to do this.
  • Reaffirmation of Faith- if you have been baptized in another Christian congregation, but are not currently a member of a congregation, you can join Bethel by reaffirming your faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior and your desire to follow him.
  • Baptism and Profession of Faith- if you have not been baptized and are not a current member of a congregation, you can join Bethel by making your public profession of faith and being baptized.
  • Confirmation-this is an in-depth membership process for youth in 8th grade or higher.  During the confirmation year, young people explore what it means to be a faithful disciple of Christ.  At the end of the year, students make their public profession of faith, claiming for themselves the promises of baptism.  At this time, they become adult members of the church.
